Skyewise Group has expanded into the real estate sector with the unveiling of a 10-storey mixed-use development in Wuse II, Abuja, marking its entry into high-rise property development.

At the groundbreaking on Saturday, the chief executive officer and founder of Skyewise Group, Dr Elvis Abuyere, said the project was inspired by his visits to about 15 countries across Asia and Europe, where he observed greater investment in high-rise developments than in Nigeria.

He said, “We have actually gone around, been to Asia, we’ve been to Europe, we’ve been to about 15 countries in less than 6 months. And I realized that we are missing it here in Nigeria. And one thing we are missing out on is real estate development.”

He said the company decided to diversify from the automobile business into real estate to develop landmark projects that would add value to Abuja’s skyline and support urban development.

Abuyere added that the development will comprise an automobile showroom, smart offices, smart apartments, restaurants and a rooftop facility, adding that it is expected to encourage more investment in modern real estate projects.

He expressed confidence that the project would inspire more developers to invest in high-rise buildings and contribute to the transformation of Abuja into a modern commercial city.

Chairman of the Advisory Board of Skyewise Group, Ambassador Usman Sarki, said the project demonstrates the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s economy and its long-term investment potential. He added that similar developments are planned for the Central Business District in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country.

He said, “There can be no greater confidence in this country than actually to establish a physical presence in terms of investment of such amounts of money. And Skyewise Group is going to do that, not only here in Wuse II, but also in the Central Business District as time goes on. And we are going to also do another edifice in Lagos.”

Sarki disclosed that the company had previously invested N10 billion in a five-storey building in Benin City, Edo State, adding that the Abuja towers would require a significantly larger investment.

Chief Executive Officer of Prime Elevation Limited, Engr Ibrahim Gidado, said the 10-storey development will feature a basement car park, office spaces, one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a penthouse with a lounge and swimming pool.

He added that construction is expected to be completed within 24 months and that strict quality control measures, from structural design to material selection and concrete testing, would be implemented throughout the project to ensure safety and durability.
