Slavia Prague, the reigning Czech First League champions, have officially secured the signature of highly rated Nigerian forward Emmanuel Ayaosi from league rivals Karvina.
The 21-year-old marks the club’s first acquisition of the upcoming season, reinforcing their attacking options as they prepare to defend their domestic title and compete in the UEFA Champions League.
Ayaosi has emerged as one of the most exciting young Nigerian talents in European football this season, catching the attention of several clubs across the Czech Republic and beyond.
Despite strong interest from Viktoria Plzen and other unnamed sides, the 22-time Czech champions moved decisively to land the promising winger.
According to a report from Footy-Africa, a source close to the player confirmed that all contractual paperwork has been finalized, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
“They have followed him for some time and have now gotten their man. In a matter of days, it will be sorted, as all the paperwork has been completed,” the source told Footy-Africa.
“I can confirm to you that the deal is 100 per cent done, and it is now only a matter of time before they make it official. He is a good player who has been on the radar of many clubs, but Slavia Prague have beaten others to sign him. The player is happy with everything and is looking forward to playing for the champions.”
Ayaosi’s journey to this point began in Nigeria’s top flight with Dakkada FC. In 2023, he made the move to Czech outfit Karvina, initially joining their under-19 setup. His rapid development and impressive work rate soon earned him a promotion to the senior team, where he truly flourished during the 2025/26 campaign.
Across all competitions, he recorded seven goals and ten assists, with twelve of those goal involvements coming solely in league play.
A transfer had looked likely as early as the January window, when Viktoria Plzen pushed hard to sign him.
However, negotiations collapsed over a disagreement on the player’s valuation, leaving the door open for Slavia to swoop in and secure his services ahead of the new season.
At Slavia Prague, Ayaosi will find familiar company in fellow Nigerians Igoh Ogbu and David Moses, a connection expected to help him settle quickly into the squad and the club’s playing style. More importantly, the move offers him a platform to feature in the UEFA Champions League next season, as Slavia aim to make their mark on Europe’s biggest stage while also defending their league crown.
For the young forward, consistent performances in Prague could serve as his ticket to the senior national team.
With the Super Eagles under head coach Eric Chelle, Ayaosi will hope that a strong season at one of Czech football’s biggest clubs finally earns him a call-up to represent Nigeria on the international stage.
