The atmosphere at the SMDF office on Monday was one of excitement and renewed energy, with staff expressing appreciation for her leadership and dedication.

Shinkafi’s return has been welcomed as a major boost for Nigeria’s mining sector, given her impressive track record during her previous tenure.

Under her leadership, the SMDF recorded significant achievements, including the implementation of the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI), which formalized artisanal mining and empowered over 11,000 miners.

Her tenure also witnessed a strategic partnership with the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), attracting private sector investment and driving growth in the mining sector.

Additionally, her commitment to staff welfare earned her widespread respect, with many praising her efforts to create a supportive and conducive work environment.

“She’s a leader who listens and prioritizes both the sector’s development and the wellbeing of her team,” said an SMDF staff member. “Her return is exactly what we need to keep moving forward.”

As the SMDF continues its mission to develop Nigeria’s solid minerals sector, Shinkafi’s reappointment is seen as a testament to her dedication and vision.

With high expectations for the future, staff and stakeholders were eager to build on the foundation she has laid.
