American rapper Snoop Dogg has finally come face-to-face with his long-time celebrity lookalike, Kevin Richardson, a member of the iconic boy band Backstreet Boys.

The highly anticipated meeting took place at the premiere of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie this week, bringing an end to years of social media comparisons between the two entertainers.

Fans have repeatedly pointed out the striking resemblance between Snoop Dogg and Richardson, with photographs of the rapper and the singer often prompting jokes that the two could easily pass for long-lost relatives.

The resemblance has become something of a running internet joke over the years, making their eventual face-to-face encounter an especially amusing moment for fans of both stars.

Backstreet Boys captured the meeting and shared the moment on social media with the caption, “It finally happened… iykyk,” signalling their awareness of the long-running doppelganger comparisons.

The encounter quickly became a fun talking point among fans, with many joking about how similar the two appeared despite coming from very different corners of the entertainment industry.

Snoop Dogg, one of hip-hop’s most recognisable figures, has built a decades-long career as a rapper, producer, entrepreneur and entertainment personality, while Richardson is best known as one of the members of Backstreet Boys, one of the world’s most successful pop groups.

Their meeting has now inspired another suggestion from fans: a collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Backstreet Boys.

For now, there is no indication that such a collaboration is in the works, but after finally bringing the two celebrity lookalikes together, fans appear ready for the next step: hearing what a Snoop Dogg and Backstreet Boys collaboration might sound like.
