The Sokoto State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal is set to deliver judgement on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, challenging the outcome of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the State.

Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, were declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Meanwhile, journalists, who arrived at the court premises as early as 7:00am on Saturday morning, were subjected to strict security checks as the court premises was being manned by heavily armed security personnel making access to the courtroom a very difficult task.

But, journalists not working for state government media houses were not allowed into the chamber of the Sokoto State High Court complex venue of the Tribunal.
