Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, were declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Meanwhile, journalists, who arrived at the court premises as early as 7:00am on Saturday morning, were subjected to strict security checks as the court premises was being manned by heavily armed security personnel making access to the courtroom a very difficult task.

But, journalists not working for state government media houses were not allowed into the chamber of the Sokoto State High Court complex venue of the Tribunal.

A DSS personnel while addressing journalists at the court said only journalists working for the state owned media and that of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) will be allowed into the court chamber where the judgment is expected to be delivered this Saturday.
