The Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, in collaboration with the State Cares Coordination Unit (SSCU), has organised a two-day capacity-building training workshop for State NG-Cares Programme Staff.

The ministry’s commissioner, Dr Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, declared the workshop open and charged the State NG-Cares Programme staff with living up to expectations and achieving the programme’s goals.

Dr Zayyana, who said this would benefit the state’s people immensely from the programme designed to support vulnerable people, explained that the initiative aligns with Governor Ahmad Aliyu-led administration’s desire to promote economic growth and development, as outlined in the State Development Plan.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Maryam Ahmad Barade, noted that capacity building demonstrates state governments’ commitments to improving citizens’ lives.

Therefore, she stressed the need for collaboration and teamwork among the programme’s stakeholders to achieve the state’s development goals.
