Sokoto State government has appointed a new interim management board for the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Sokoto United ahead of the new football season.

According to a statement released by the club, the new management team is headed by Umar Muhammad Maraya, while Abdulhakim Yakubu serve as secretary.

The new board is expected to start work immediately as the club seek to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)) next season.

They made it to the Nigeria National League (NNL) playoff last season but missed out on promotion to the top-flight.

A kick-off date for the new season is yet to be fixed by the NNL.
