An All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Abia State, Chidi Ogbulafor, has said the South East cannot deny President Bola Tinubu support with the president’s gestures to the zone.

Ogbulafor stated this, yesterday, in a chat with LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, Abia State capital, volunteering to take the message across to the people “in every nook and cranny of the zone”.

He pointed at the establishment and recent inauguration of the South East Development Commission by the president, “after a long struggle by the people for its approval” as one of the gestures.

The younger brother of the late Peoples Democratic Party national secretary, Vin Ogbulafor, argued that before now, the zone had struggled for the establishment of the commission to no avail.

“For this singular gesture among others, the zone and the people are greatful to Asiwaju and the APC-led administration”, according to the Olokoro, Umuahia South local government area prince.

He further noted that “under the Tinubu presidency, the zone produced the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, the No 6 citizen of the country in the person of Ben Kalu”.

A former chairman of the area’s council, Ogbulafor, maintained that the president has also appointed people from the zone into strategic positions in his cabinet and others positions.

He drew the attention of the president to the deplorable state of federal infrastructures in the state, and the need for enhanced youths skills and empowerment programmes and employment opportunities.
