The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing Mobilisation Vanguard has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the action taken on alleged sponsored protests against the minister of state for Defence, Bello Matawalle and Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, maintaining that no amount of protests against the duo would stand.

The chairman of the group, Alhaji Ashiru Tukur in a statement yesterday urged the EFCC to go after the sponsors of the protests against Matawalle and Senator Yari.
“While commending the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for rubbishing these sponsored protesters that have lost focus about the constitutional duty and the modus operandi of the anti-graft agency, we call on the commission to go after the sponsors of these protests for constituting nuisance around.

“Our findings have shown that some of these characters travelled all the way from their states, using public funds to mobilise, hire jobless youths in Abuja to intensify their propaganda and campaign of calumny against perceived political enemies.

“These are political jobbers who have abandoned their constituents to poverty, insecurity and economic challenges back home only to come to the Nigeria seat of power and waste public resources in their care to pursue ‘a mission to nowhere’ laying allegations without substance,” the APC Youth Vanguard stated.

According to the group, those campaigning against Matawalle are ignorant of the law.

“All the ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu followed due process as tradition demands before they were cleared by the National Assembly which is where we are concerned about these incessant unnecessary protests to remind the EFCC of its responsibility.

“So, this unpopular propaganda against Matawalle and Yari must be stopped because it cannot hold water; they are Nigerians who have been progressing in their political journey. They are not ordinary Nigerians in terms of recognition, networking and political support across the country.

“No amount of blackmail and political propaganda against the personality of Bello Matawalle and Sen Abdul’aziz Yari will prosper.

“Zamfara is in dire need of peace and political stability which is why those with a sense of reasoning must come together as a united force to fight the ravaging insecurity and other challenges that have retarded its progress.”
