Nigeria’s Super Eagles have officially opened their training camp in Antalya, Turkey, as they prepare for upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

The team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, announced that coaches and team officials arrived in Istanbul early yesterday, with the entire contingent expected to settle into their Antalya base by midday.

As the camp gets underway, invited players are set to join the squad throughout yesterday and today, marking the beginning of preparations for these crucial matches.

Head coach Éric Chelle has called up 23 players for the friendlies, which are essential for assessing team performance ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.

The Super Eagles will first face Iran on Friday, followed by a match against Jordan just four days later. These friendly matches provide an opportunity for players to showcase their abilities and potentially secure their spots within the national team.

The Super Eagles, who have a rich history in African football, are eager to build upon their past successes and enhance team cohesion as they aim for upcoming tournaments. With a blend of experienced players and emerging talents, this camp is seen as a vital step in the team’s journey to reclaiming their status as a force in international football after failing to qualify for 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
