Support Betrayer, Reap Betrayal, Wike Warns Governors

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has delivered what he described as a message ‘from the gods of the land’ to Nigerian politicians, particularly governors serving their second term in office.

The minister spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt during the commissioning of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters, which houses Majority FM 89.5, a situation room, office facilities, and vehicles for the organisation.

He warned that politicians who support betrayers would themselves reap betrayal, stating that his own successor took only a few months to betray him.

He cautioned that any second-term governor who backs a betrayer in the hope of installing a successor would face immediate betrayal after that successor’s inauguration.

“Let me tell you one thing, today is the 7th of February. Whoever is watching, whether you are a senator, a House of Reps member, a minister, or a governor, if you support betrayers, people will continue to betray you in life.

You sit down and support those who betray others; betrayal is your portion. And the day you are betrayed, you will not have the mouth to say anything. You will collapse there. You will reap the seed that you planted. Whatever you sow, you will reap it.

“Betrayal will follow you everywhere. I have told you, do not take it for granted. Watch every governor who is in his second term, who has the ambition to install a successor and is supporting a betrayer. You will never survive it. Betrayal will follow you. The day your successor comes in, mine took some months, yours will start immediately. This is what the gods of the land have told me to tell you people,” he said.
