Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello has called on well-established companies in the FCT to complement the government’s efforts in providing and sustaining quality infrastructure in Abuja.
Bello, who stated this during the opening of Abuja Furniture Production (AFP) show room at Maitama in Abuja on Monday, said the administration is concerned with quality work in and around the city, and would always work with competent firms that could add value to the government efforts.
The minister who was represented by the director of FCT public building, Adebowale Ademo, while commending the company, explained that the FCT administration will always go for the best to make the aesthetic of Abuja a world-class one.
“AFP has been a major partner in the development of the city, it is well known for producing high-quality furniture over the years. So, we want it to complement the government’s efforts,” he said.
Bello described the take-off of the company as very impressive considering the quality of the product that the firm produces.
“This is what the administration has been looking for, a situation whereby people can come in with a lot of commitment to the city and also provide the necessary services that will complement the efforts of the government by ensuring that Abuja becomes one of the 20th habitable cities in the world.
“The government has made a lot of efforts to ensure that the aesthetic of the city is respected, when we have outfits that contribute to the development of the city, respecting the laws and also requirements of the master plan, it also helps,” he said.
The general manager of AFP, Oliver Cohnen said the company which is an arm of Julius Berger has been using furniture for over 30 years, and the services cover all categories of people and would keep to the standards.
