A support group for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu known as “Arewa For Asiwaju 2023” has mobilised 5, 000 women from other parties to defect to the ruling party in Gombe State.

The state coordinator of the group Ibrahim Muhammad stated this yesterday while receiving the defectors at Custodian Hotel, Gombe, Gombe State.

According to him, the defectors came from the 11 local government areas of the state adding that the development followed the intensive mobilisation and sensitisation of the people by the group on the APC presidential candidate’s manifestos.

“The decampees were members of the PDP before and in view of our sensitisation, they have now dumped the opposition party for APC.

“Arewa for Asiwaju 2023 in Gombe State has been going to rural areas to canvas support for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the upcoming elections.

We told them Tinubu’s manifestos and his contribution to democracy in Nigeria.

“We urge the decampees to mobilise others to join Tinubu’s camp too because the former Lagos governor has the capacity and ability to lead the country to greater heights using Lagos experience,” he said.
