LEADERSHIP reports that the man named Fwimbe Gofwan, said to be in his thirties, was heading home when the incident happened.

It was alleged that the young man earlier on the road had a minor ‘brush’ with a commercial motorcycle rider around Tudun Wada motor park area of Jos North LGA, prompting the riders to give him a hot chase and when they eventually caught up with him around Domkat Bali Road, they lynched him by stoning him to death in his car.

According to a source, who did not want his name in print, the development has created tension in the community.

He said the sad incident happened around 9pm. The source, therefore, called on security operatives to enforce the ban on commercial motorcycle operation in the state.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State government said it observed with dismay the non-adherence to the official 6am to 6pm operation period for tricycle operators and the increasing rate of activities of commercial motorcyclists, which it re-echoed that, it remained banned.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Musa Ashoms, made this known after the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, on Wednesday.

The State governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, had at several fora, said his administration was determined to bring back nightlife to Jos metropolis and ensure that lasting peace was restored to the once peaceful Tin City.
