Suspected Ritualists Kill, Pluck Eyes Of Almajiri In Jigawa

The corpse of a 16-year-old almajiri suspected to be killed by ritualists has been discovered in the bush in Shuwarin town of Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa State.

According to reports from the area, the victim was hacked to death on his way back home after getting firewood from the nearby bush.

Confirming the story, spokesman of the state police command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, said the police had received complaints from one Malam Mustapha of Abuja Quarters in Shuwarin town that one of his students, Yusuf Mustapha, was missing.

Mustapha told the police that the corpse of the victim was later sighted at a nearby bush.

Shiisu added that after receiving the report, police rushed to the scene and evacuated the body.

The PPRO noted that the eyes of the victims were also confirmed to be forcefully plucked out by the killers suspected to be ritualists.

“As I am talking to you, the police command is working round the clock in collaboration with the public to track and arrest the assailants,” the PPRO stated.
