The national president of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, has enjoined Christians and indeed all practitioners to remain resolute in love always as efforts to reposition the professional body remains on course.
This was contained in Easter message Mr.Benjamin, conveyed through a statement by the secretary-general of the association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, on Sunday in Abuja.

President Benjamin who went down memory lane on the significance of Easter celebration, said like Jesus Christ, only passion and sincerity of purpose in service at any given opportunity will salvage mankind from all shackles of deception and falsehood.
While assuring Sport Journalists of his administration’s desire to take SWAN to greater heights, he said: “It’s my earnest desire to serve you as one dedicated to lead our great Association to the enviable destination.
“Just like Jesus, our commitment as a leadership is unwavering, with the eyes focused on the ball. I therefore enjoin all SWAN members nationwide and beyond to keep supporting us, irrespective of whatever distraction from any quarter. We will not disappoint.

“Together, we will create a new path that will make the desired impact. Keep believing, don’t despair.”
He then prayed, “May the blessings of Easter fill your heart with peace, your home with happiness, and your life with love. May the spirit of Easter bring you hope and renewal. May the promise of Easter give you strength and courage. Happy Easter to you and your loved ones!”

The SWAN President used the occasion to rally political, business, religious leaders, corporate bodies and others to deploy reasonable resources in human development using sports as a way of tackling unemployed, insecurity and all forms of societal vices.
“Any other investment other than focusing on human development fades away with time. So, both the government and non-governmental organs should be strengthened to devote more resources towards empowering the youth,” he said.
