The member representing Jalingo/Yoro/Zing federal constituency of Taraba State Hon. Sadiq Abbas has, in support of Governor Agbu Kefas’ free education policy, registered 300 students for the 2025 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
Abbas, during the JAMB registration flag-off, which took place on Sunday at Taraba Motel in Jalingo, the state capital, said the initiative aimed to empower students with opportunities to pursue their higher education without financial constraints.
Abbas, who was represented at the event by the former chairman of the Jalingo local government council, Hon. Abdulnaseer Boboji, called on the JAMB enrollees to take education seriously, stating that educated citizens are the bedrock of development and a peaceful society.
He reaffirmed his dedication to supporting Governor Kefas’s free education policy since his assumption of office last year, noting that education remains the only key to development.
“At this time, God has granted us the opportunity to be at the helm of leadership in Taraba. We will ensure that education takes the center stage. The governor’s quest for free education must be supported by all means. We will ensure that these students have access to tertiary education opportunities. We are investing in the future of our constituency and Taraba State as a whole,” Abbas stated.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the benefiting students cut across the three local government areas of the federal constituency which is Jalingo, Yoro and Zing local government areas of Taraba State.
