Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, has offered a full scholarship to five students of Bethel Baptist High School who were students kidnapped in July 2021 in Kaduna.

Bandits, in large numbers with sophisticated weapons, broke through the fence of the school on July 5, 2021, and abducted 121 students to an unknown destination.

However, all the abducted students regained their freedom in batches after the ransom was paid and they graduated from school, except for five students still studying there.

Senator Katung granted the scholarship during the fundraising programmes organised by the Kaduna Baptist Conference to rebuild Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna.

Senator Katung pledged to pay the tuition fees of the five students from secondary school up to university.
