Following a successful first phase in Vitoria, where Nigeria secured a gold medal thanks to Paralympic medalist Eniola Bolaji in the SL3 event, the team is eager to build on that momentum. Bolaji triumphed over Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna in a thrilling final match, solidifying her status as one of the top competitors in her classification.

In this second phase, Nigeria’s contingent includes three of its premier para badminton players: Eniola Bolaji, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the world in the SL3 category, will compete in the SL3 singles event against two other opponents. Meanwhile, teammates Eze Chukwuebuka and Nnana Jeremiah will pair up to compete in the SL4 doubles category.

With the spotlight on them, the Nigerian team aims to deliver outstanding performances and secure podium finishes, further enhancing the nation’s reputation in the global para badminton arena. As the tournament unfolds, fans and supporters back home eagerly await the results.

The event not only highlights the talent and determination of Nigerian para-athletes but also emphasizes the growing prominence of para badminton in the country.
