Three delegates of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who died in a road crash on their way from Makurdi to the party’s North Central zonal congress held last month in Lafia, have been buried in Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of the state, amid tears.

The deceased, identified as Anawo Benjamin Akor, Ogbe Enemari, and Abraham Enenche, were APC ward youth leaders who lost their lives in an accident along the Makurdi–Lafia Expressway while travelling to attend the APC North Central Zonal Congress in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on March 25, 2026.

Sympathisers, mourners, and APC state leaders, led by the Benue State Chairman, Benjamin Omale, attended the burial and prayed for the repose of their souls.

They described the deceased as loyal and committed party members who would be greatly missed.

The Assistant Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue State chapter, Jacob Okpe Akelikwunu, in a statement after the burial, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia and other party faithful in the state for organising a befitting burial.

“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who stood by my family as we laid the remains of our younger brother, Abraham Enenche, APC youth leader of Olachagbaha Ward, to rest alongside two other youth leaders from Oono Ward 3 and Orokam Ward 3 in Ogbadibo LGA,” he said.

LEADERSHIP had earlier reported that three APC delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State died, while ten others sustained injuries in a road crash on their way from Makurdi to Lafia to attend the party’s North Central zonal congress.
