Nigerian Tech entrepreneur, Nicholas Nome has rejected $5m from foreign investor over a platform, paynownow.com he founded.
The 29-yr-old Chairman and Founder of the firm, Nome in a statement to newsmen said investors contacted him via his LinkedIn profile. He said he related with his team to hold conversations and conference video meeting with the investors, after which they declined the offer.
Nome revealed that the offer was turned down because his team believe the utilities service website and mobile transfer service launched in April, 2020 would generate much more profit than the amount in a few years.
According to him, “The app is still in process of launch and is designed for users to buy cheap airtime, data, pay electricity bills and cable tv bills with ease in Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that in the coming years, the app will generate more profits.
“The introduction of the paynownow mobile app is the rejuvenation of modernity. We are here to make transactions easy for Nigerians.
“It is an unarguable fact that no one walks down to vendors to sort their bills any longer when they can do so online that is one of the more reasons this App will succeed and I am optimistic about the future of the app and it’s acceptablility,” he added.
