Nigerian singer, Tesh Carter has released a new single Monster. The song Monster speaks of the other side of everyone – the monster within that everyone must learn to control lest it destroys them or hurt the people around them.
“Everyone has that inner monster. It’s important that you realise it exists so it doesn’t consume you. If you’ve got a drinking or drug addiction once in a while but recognize that it is a problem, shows that you are above it,” Carter said.
“I wrote and recorded Monster in my sanctuary. I was in my element when the lyrics came in effortlessly. I have a fantasy
The song comes after the singer reappearance in the music scene a year ago, with the EP Rebel. Discovered by Clarence Peters a while back, Carter, born Teshama Jacklyn Omagbitse, like most singers picked up singing at a young age. Although her musical style is influenced by international local artistes as Asa, P-Square, Tuface, Don Jazzy among others, she revels in the fact that her music isn’t boxed into a genre – which gives her the freedom to experiment.
Now that she is back in the industry, Carter has no plans to disappear anytime soon. “There is no slowing down,” even as she takes her sounds to the next level, at the same time kicked off work on another EP, while looking forward to collaborations with other artistes.
