Fem in Tech is the brainchild of Thembi Shilenge, who nursed the vision of powering innovation and promoting remarkable strides in the financial technology sector.

Thembi Shilenge is bent on creating a forum for women in tech to come together, where they can create inclusive financial products, leveraging technology for financial inclusion, or advocating for diversity in the industry.

Acknowledged as a cryptocurrency superstar trader and coach, thriving in her own class, Thembi Shilenge’s daring spirit pushed her into cryptocurrency trading about eight years ago. By 2017, she had become a force to reckon with. She established her own firm, Crypto Dimensions, and started her mentoring initiative, which has raised hundreds of future global giants, and at the same time, propagating financial inclusion on the continent.

Despite Thembi Shilenge’s humble beginnings, her impact has been felt globally. The Chemical Engineering graduate quit her regular job to become the face of cryptocurrency trading in Africa. She has attended several fora as an expert in the trade, to share uncommon knowledge and secrets to success.

“Fems in fintech is a driving innovation and making significant strides in the financial technology sector. They are not only building businesses but also collaborating and networking to create impactful solutions.
Through their innovative ideas and leadership, they are reshaping the landscape of finance.

“Whether it’s creating inclusive financial products, leveraging technology for financial inclusion, or advocating for diversity in the industry, women in fintech are making a difference.

“Their contributions are not only driving economic growth but also paving the way for a more equitable and diverse future in finance,” she said.

Thembi Shilenge’s reputation as a philanthropist is becoming legendary as her Fems In Tech organized a visit to a clinic and school for disabled children in the Mmakaunyane (MMK) Community in South Africa, on the occasion of the 2024 Children’s Day. This is aside her personal conviction of reaching out and giving back to society. In 2023, she returned to her alma mater in Mmakaunyane, South Africa, where she was born and had her elementary education. She donated 50,000 sanitary pads to five schools, as a way of supporting students.
