In 2020, the Kwara State Agro-Mall fell victim to vandalism during the nationwide EndSARS protest, dealing a blow to agricultural development in the state.
However, the state government has completed its renovation, transforming it into a thriving hub for agricultural coordination, input distribution and service delivery.
The commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Afees Abolore, told LEADERSHIP that the renovation demonstrated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to strengthening agricultural infrastructure and promoting sustainable growth.
The restored Agro-Mall boasts upgraded storage facilities and office accommodations, enabling efficient engagement with farmers and aggregators.
It now serves as a one-stop centre, streamlining programme alignment, improving logistics and expanding farmers’ access to services.
The commissioner said the facility would support food security, rural development and sustainable economic growth, aligning with the governor’s vision.
“The complex is ready to host programmes, trainings and agricultural activities, strengthening the state’s farming ecosystem,” he added.
