A Nigerian woman has sparked serious concerns online after sharing her experience with a loaf of bread that reportedly refused to spoil for over two months.
In a viral video, the woman showed the bread, explaining that it had been sitting on her shelf for eight weeks without growing mold or smelling bad. She noted that the loaf still looked, felt, and smelled completely fresh, which she found very disturbing.
The woman explained that bread suppliers usually pick up unsold loaves after a few days to replace them with fresh ones. However, in this case, the suppliers allegedly stopped answering her calls, leaving the bread with her for weeks.
Out of curiosity, she admitted to tasting the bread and found that it still tasted good. This made her even more worried about the type of powerful preservatives or chemicals used during the baking process.
“I found similar complaints online,” she said, adding that some people have claimed certain bread brands can last for up to a year without spoiling.
She warned the public to be careful about what they consume, expressing concern about the potential health risks of consuming food with such high levels of preservatives. Many social media users have since called on NAFDAC to investigate the matter and identify the brands involved to ensure public safety.
