Awara, a soybean delicacy popular across Northern Nigeria, has earned a place among Abuja’s favourite street foods. It can be enjoyed with pepper sauce, among other accompaniments, or as a light meal. While awara vendors can be found across the capital, some districts are particularly known for their active food scenes and abundance of local delicacies.

Garki

In and around Area 1 and neighbouring communities, awara is commonly sold throughout the day. Depending on portion size and accompaniments, servings typically range from about N500 to N1,500 or more.

Wuse

Wuse’s bustling commercial atmosphere makes it another reliable place to find fresh awara. Vendors around markets and busy streets often offer the snack as a quick and affordable meal option. Prices generally range from N500 to N2,000.
