The All Progressives Congress APC) yesterday spurned reports suggesting a cold war between presidential candidate of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, over composition of the party’s campaign council.

Specifically, the party refuted media report claiming that the frosty relationship between Adamu and Tinubu was the reason behind its inability to unveil the full list of members of the APC presidential campaign council.

While Tinubu’s camp had recently named Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo as director general and spokesman of the presidential campaign council, a party source hinted that the APC national working committee (NWC) was consulted before the formal announcement.

Reacting to the claim in Abuja yesterday, APC deputy  national organising secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, spurned reports that both Tinubu and the APC national chairman have been working at cross purposes.

Confirming that Governor Lalong’s appointment and that of Keyamo received the blessing in of national leadership of the party, Duru noted that both the Tinubu team and the party national secretariat have been working together.

He said the party would unveil the full list of members the campaign council  before the Independent National Electoral Commission,  (INEC)  announced the flag off for campaigns.

He stated: “There is no power tussle over positions.

of  such has happened and the party  and the candidate are working together. But it is important to say that  we agreed  on DG and spokesman.

“The governors will control the structures at the zones. The party can’t be excluded  and it won’t even exclude anybody. We will have an embracing and all inclusive campaign council. There is no discord anywhere. More importantly, the party chairman agreed on the issue of DG and spokesman.

“Before the INEC flag on September 28, all other positions will be unveiled. The chairman is leading the conversation. “
