President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, arrived in Kano to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
The presidential aircraft touched down at the Aminu Kano International Airport around 3:30 p.m. where President Tinubu was received by the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside senior government officials and traditional leaders.
Accompanied by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu proceeded to the residence of the Dantata family to commiserate with them over the passing of their patriarch, who died on June 28, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
During the visit, the President is expected to express his personal condolences to the family and the people of Kano State, acknowledging the immense contributions of the late Dantata to commerce, philanthropy, and national development.
Although Tinubu was out of the country at the time of Dantata’s burial, he however directed a delegation, led by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, to represent him at the Janazah in Saudi Arabia, where the nonagenarian was laid to rest.
Alhaji Dantata, one of Nigeria’s most respected industrialists and philanthropists, was widely regarded as a pillar of the northern business community and a symbol of integrity and humility.
Security was tight around the airport and the Dantata family residence as hundreds of well-wishers gathered to witness the visit.
