International economist and youth leader, Dr Raymond Edoh, has congratulated Major General Waidi Shaibu on his appointment as the new Chief of Army Staff by President Bola Tinubu.

In a personally signed statement, Edoh described the appointment as “a well-deserved recognition of competence, discipline, and dedication to national service.”

He commended President Tinubu for what he called a visionary and merit-driven decision, saying the choice of Major General Shaibu reflected the President’s commitment to excellence and integrity in leadership.

“Major General Waidi Shaibu’s appointment mirrors President Tinubu’s unwavering belief in merit, capacity, and excellence in public service. His dedication to Nigeria’s unity and defence speaks volumes of his patriotism and leadership quality,” Edoh said.

The youth advocate expressed confidence that the new Army Chief would uphold loyalty, professionalism, and democratic values, ensuring that the Nigerian Army remains a stabilising force for peace and national cohesion.
