Tinubu Hails Akpabio For Effectively Steering National Assembly Affairs

President Bola Tinubu has commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio for what he described as his effective management of the affairs of the National Assembly.

Tinubu singled out Akpabio for praise on Friday while formally flagging off international flight operations at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during the unveiling of the airport’s new international terminal.

The President applauded the Senate President for his leadership and ability to navigate the affairs of the parliament, declaring his appreciation for his performance.

“Particularly, I must single out our very able and respected Senate President, who has navigated the affairs of the parliament in the country very effectively well,” Tinubu said.

“I must salute you,” he added.

The commendation came as Tinubu arrived in Uyo for a working visit to inaugurate projects executed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno and attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.

The President’s visit to Akwa Ibom is part of a two-state tour covering Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, marking his first major outing in the South-South region since the APC commenced mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He was received at the Victor Attah International Airport by Governor Eno, government officials, APC leaders and supporters.

During the visit, Tinubu is expected to inaugurate several projects executed by the state government, including the new international terminal building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village.

Other projects lined up for inauguration include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which links communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, connecting Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

The President is also expected to inaugurate the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

The visit will culminate in an APC rally at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, where party leaders and supporters are expected to gather.
