Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has described President Bola Tinubu as a leader with questions to answer, insisting that there was no debate about it.

Sowore made the assertion on Thursday during a special interview on ‘State of the Nation’ on LEADERSHIP TV.

The activist was responding to a question about how Nigerians could hold their leaders accountable.

“Nigerians must decide who they want to hold accountable by electing people who they can hold accountable,” Sowore stated.

When asked for his honest opinion on the state of the nation under Tinubu, Sowore responded, “What do you expect from someone that is questionable?”

Sowore dismissed the notion that his assertion about President Tinubu being a questionable character was arguable, maintaining that it was “not debatable.”

Addressing speculations about his past association with Tinubu, the former presidential candidate denied ever being close to the president during the June 12 struggle.

He clarified that a widely circulated photograph showing him with Tinubu and the late MKO Abiola was merely a situational necessity at the time, stressing that he did not enjoy associating with politicians.

“I was never close to him,” he said. “I was only in that picture with him and MKO Abiola because it was necessary at that point. I was not close to him or anyone.”
