A former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bugaje, has said President Bola Tinubu removed fuel subsidy on his first day in office without plans to cushion the impacts on the economy.
This, he said, was responsible for the crisis witnessed across the country with little or no efforts to address.
Bugaje who appeared on Channels TV programmes politics today said the present administration came into office unprepared for the task.
He asked where the amount saved from subsidy has gone to since the removal of subsidy on fuel which has plunged the nation into crisis. He said, “Tinubu government was not ready for governance. They thought it was going to be a tea party.
‘’We were expecting that for him (Tinubu) to announce the removal of subsidy he must have had a plan….apparently he did that without any preparation.
“Today it is public knowledge that Bola Tinubu has no solutions to the problems of this country….his government has failed to address the most essential issues.”
He continued, “I am extremely disappointed,…I can see a lot of sycophancy around him and he seems to be very comfortable with the kind of people around him that don’t seem to have any idea in their heads.
The former lawmaker faulted senate’s vote of confidence on service chiefs while citizens are deserting communities and languishing on the streets.
