As political activities in Nigeria gravitate towards the 2023 general election, a pro-Tinubu support group,’ Tinubu/Shettima Network (TSN) 2023 has inaugurated its national, state and zonal officers for election monitoring, education, sensitization, and awareness in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Speaking at the inauguration yesterday, TSN national chairman, Dr Kailani Muhammed, said they are out to ensure Tinubu’s success in the election.
“We are here to market Tinubu/Shettima tickets to Nigerians because of their tracking records,” Muhammed said.
He explained that the TSN is a rebirth of the Voter’s Guard and Awareness group, which from 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019, ensured success for President Muhammadu Buhari with about 12 million votes.
“We are assuring this gathering and Nigerians in general that we are strategically positioned for a vibrant result-oriented outcome, more than we recorded in 2015 and 2019. By the special grace of God Almighty, our efforts will not be in vain.
“We shall put in every effort and ensure that all hands are on deck to register election success and ensure that Senator Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima are sworn in as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Vice President respectively come 2023.
“We know that all the presidential candidates vying for the office of the president have credibility but Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has more credibility than all of them. We want them to step down and support his candidature,” Muhammed said while supporting the same-faith ticket.
While speaking on the same-faith ticket, Muhammed explained that by picking Kashim Shettima as his running mate, it’s obvious that the 2023 presidential election is already a success story.
“In politics, to win an election, one has to be strategic. That’s why the combination of Tinubu/Shettima is a sure win and a clear road to Aso Rock,” Muhammed said.
According to him, if Nigeria is polarized along religious lines, the country will continue to have bad leadership.
“That explains why the election of Nigeria’s president should not be towed along religious lines.
“It is, therefore, our clarion call to past Nigerian leaders to support this noble cause so that together we can surge forward towards true nationhood and socio-political and economic development of our country.”
