Tinubu’s Public Affairs Aide, Aliyu Audu, Resigns

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has formally resigned his position.

Audu, in a letter dated June 8, 2025, and addressed to President Tinubu through the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.

He expressed profound gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve in his administration, describing the experience as an honour and privilege.

 

“I remain deeply grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” Audu wrote. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

He also acknowledged the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, for nominating him for the role despite their brief prior acquaintance.

 

Audu was nominated on August 26, 2023, for the role and his appointment was officially approved by President Tinubu on October 9, 2023.

 

While no specific reason was stated for his resignation, Audu assured the President of his continued prayers for the success of the administration and the progress of the nation.
