Fikayo Tomori insists that AC Milan are prepared to fight until the very end after securing a hard-fought victory against their arch-rivals Inter Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

An unlikely hero emerged at San Siro, with full-back Pervis Estupiñán netting the decisive goal to hand the Rossoneri a crucial triumph. The win cuts the gap at the top of the table to just seven points, reigniting a flicker of hope in the title race.

Despite the growing optimism, the English defender kept his focus firmly on the task ahead. Speaking to CBS Sports after the final whistle, Tomori emphasized the importance of taking things one game at a time.

“Who knows what will happen?” Tomori said with a shrug. “Right now, it’s about us. We can’t control what anyone else does. Tonight was massive—a good performance against a top side, and we got the win. That’s what matters.”

The 26-year-old acknowledged the unique intensity of the derby but stressed that the team never lost their composure. “These games are always special, always tough. But the way we started, pressing them high, creating chances—we could’ve scored more in the first half. At this stage of the season, though, it’s just about the three points. We’re really happy.”

Tomori also revealed that little motivation was needed from manager

Massimiliano Allegri ahead of the match. “In a derby, the Mister doesn’t have to say much. We know what it means—for the club, the fans, and ourselves.”

With the season entering its decisive phase, Tomori is keeping his feet on the ground.

“We’ll enjoy tonight, but then it’s straight back to work. Rest, recover, and focus on the next one. We want to finish as strong as we can.”
