High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has called on the people of Taraba State to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term, saying continuity is needed to consolidate the administration’s ongoing reforms.
Chief Tompolo, who is the founder and convener of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, spoke in Taraba during the inauguration of the movement’s structures state.
He urged APC members to take the campaign for Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima to communities across the state.
The PBAT founder said, the movement would deploy a grassroots mobilisation strategy involving door-to-door engagements, churches, mosques, homes and communities to canvass support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the challenges accompanying government reforms should not be allowed to undermine policies, which he claimed, were already producing positive changes.
Tompolo also linked the continuation of the Tinubu administration at the federal level with the ability of Governor Agbu Kefas to sustain his development programmes in Taraba State.
He explained that, another four years for Tinubu would provide an opportunity to consolidate the Federal Government’s reforms, attract further investment and sustain programmes benefiting Nigerians.
“Every policy needs time to consolidate,” Tompolo said, urging Tarabans to support the president and communicate the administration’s achievements to voters at the grassroots.
Taraba State governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, who attended the event, described Tompolo as his brother and friend and said, Taraba was ready to support and deliver Tinubu in 2027.
Governor Kefas, said residents of the state did not need to be told what the president was doing because, they were witnesses to the impact of the Federal Government’s policies through projects being implemented in the state.
“We are moving forward with the mandate of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President,” the governor said.
The governor assured the movement and APC that his administration would continue to flag off and commission projects across Taraba.
The national coordinator of the movement, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, said the organisation had come to Taraba to seek support for Tinubu and Kefas, and urged residents to remain with the APC.
Comrade Asuku claimed that, security had improved in Taraba and urged voters to support the administrations at the federal and state levels for continuity.
He called on members of the movement to intensify mobilisation across the state, saying the campaign should be taken from community to community ahead of the 2027 polls.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign organisation in Taraba, Danladi Baido, assured the APC leadership that the campaign team would work towards securing victory for the party.
Baido recalled the party’s performance in Taraba during the 2023 presidential election and said the campaign organisation would intensify its grassroots activities ahead of 2027.
The state APC chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, also assured that the party would mobilise to deliver its candidates at all levels in the forthcoming elections.
