Peace Moses, a 26-year-old lady, was killed on Monday when a convoy not only knocked her down but also ran her over along Ada-George Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2026, while she was returning from an evening service at her church, Channel World Outreach, located within the Ada-George area.
Speaking on the tragic incident, a popular comedian, Ko Baba Journsen, has described the tragic death of Peace, who he said was his best employee.
Journsen stated that, before her death, the lady wrote a book as she grew, established a foundation for young ladies, and became everything she had dreamt of.
“Peace was not just anyone to me; she was one of the young ladies I mentored and invested in. In January, she wrote me a long message, thanking me for pushing her to be better, promising that she would make me proud. She apologised for the times she misunderstood my hard knock.
“She was the third staff member I hired at Talkaholic Unlimited. I simply dropped a message on ‘PortHarcourtSabiTin’ looking for someone to handle my socials, and she reached out, saying she had no experience but was willing to learn.
“I took her in, and she became one of the strongest products of my mentorship. I didn’t pamper her; I trained her, drilled her, because I wanted her to be tougher.
“And she grew. She wrote a book, founded a foundation for young ladies, found her place in the church I recommended, and faithfully served as the pastor’s personal assistant.
“She was becoming everything she dreamed of. However, a hit-and-run driver and others who crushed her body took her breath away.
“This pain will stay with us for a long time. Her killers will not find rest. Our office has been cold in these critical times, but God will comfort us and as well comfort her family,” he said.
Speaking about the convoy that knocked Peace to death, a friend, who participated in the candlelight procession, Barnabas Oreh said: “Right now, there is little to no concrete information about the convoy responsible. It all happened so fast that even those around her are still struggling to piece it together.
“But here’s the truth: We can find them and we must. This is a call to action. If you live or do business around Ada George Road in Port Harcourt, and if your shop or building has CCTV cameras, we need you on this.”
“Did your camera capture any convoy passing between 7:00pm and 7:30pm that night? Did you see anything? Do you remember a number plate, a siren, a vehicle colour, or anything unusual?
“Even the smallest detail could be the missing piece. Because if we let this slide. If we stay silent. If we move on as if nothing happened, then we are telling ourselves that some lives in Nigeria do not matter.”
Meanwhile, friends of the late Peace, who was a committed member of her church, held a candlelight procession in her honour on Thursday evening.
The procession kicked off from the vicinity where she was killed, opposite OPM Junction, Ada-George Road, Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Rivers State Police Command seem not to be aware of the killing of a 26-year-old lady, whose story has gone viral on social media.
When contacted by LEADERSHIP, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, said she was not aware of the ugly development.
Iringe-Koko promised to get back to our Correspondent as soon as she is briefed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ada-George Road axis.
She said, “When? I will find out and get back to you. You just told me now. It is now that I want to find out. I need to get in touch with the DPO of that area.”
