Transcorp Hotels Posts N12.228bn Pre-tax Profit, To Pay N1.02bn Interim Dividend

Transport Hotels Plc has declared a pre-tax profit of N12.228 billion in the first half year financial period ended June 30, 2025.

Following this impressive result, the company has proposed an interim dividend of N1.024 billion, representing 10 kobo per share, demonstrating its commitment to rewarding shareholders.

The half year period saw the launch of the Company’s world-class, 5,000-seat capacity Transcorp Centre, demonstrating Transcorp Hotels positioning as the event and hospitality leader in Nigeria. The Company’s successful launch of Nigeria’s largest corporate venue is further evidence of its ability to unlock new revenue streams and drive sustainable growth.

The Company’s results revealed an impressive revenue growth of 60 per cent from N29.72 billion in H1 2024 to N47.57 billion in H1 2025. Cost of sales rose to N11.360 billion as against N8.531 billion in H1 2024, while gross profit rose by 71 per cent to N36.21 billion from N21.19 billion of the preceding year.

This notable growth translated to an improvement in H1 2025 gross profit margin, increasing to 76 per cent, despite the challenging macroeconomic environment marked by rising inflation and increased operating costs.

Profit before tax up by 16.75 per cent to N12.228 billion compared to N10.474 billion, while profit after tax stood at N8.679 billion higher than N6.616 billion achieved in H1 2024.

The Company’s earnings per share for the period under review stood at 85 kobo from 65 kobo.

Speaking on the H1 performance, the chairman Transcorp Hotels, Emmanuel Nnorom said, “Transcorp Hotels’ outstanding performance in the first half of 2025 further validates our transformative strategies, with a laser focus on innovation and operational efficiency.

“It affirms our steadfast dedication to delivering investor returns and signals our profound confidence in Transcorp Hotels’ future growth.”

Moving forward, Nnorom stated that “we are confident in our ability to consistently raise the bar for the industry, fulfilling our mission to redefine hospitality in Africa.”

MD/CEO Transcorp Hotels, Uzo Oshogwe added that “our exceptional H1 2025 performance reflects our relentless execution of a growth-focused agenda. These results reflect the resilience of our business model and the dedication of our team.
