The Publisher of Triangle International Magazine, Otunba Femi Salako, has explained why the organisation chose London as the venue for its forthcoming 10th Anniversary celebration and anniversary lecture, rather than hosting the landmark event in Nigeria.

Speaking in a statement made available to journalists, Otunba Femi Salako noted that although Triangle International Magazine remains a proudly Nigerian brand, the publication has, over the last ten years, grown beyond national boundaries to become a respected platform for celebrating distinguished Africans from different sectors and professions across the continent and in the diaspora.

According to him, the decision to hold the anniversary event in London reflects the magazine’s international outlook and expanding institutional presence, and underscores the city’s strategic role in the publication’s history and operations as its international headquarters.

He explained that the 10th anniversary is not only a celebration of media excellence and institutional resilience but also an opportunity to deepen global conversations around Africa’s development, leadership, enterprise, and international cooperation.

Otunba Salako stated that over the years, Triangle International Magazine has consistently recognised outstanding Africans in governance, business, diplomacy, academia, media, youth development, and humanitarian service, irrespective of nationality, adding that the anniversary venue was deliberately chosen to reflect that continental identity.

According to the publisher, London offers a global platform that attracts influential Africans in the diaspora, international development actors, investors, and strategic partners, whose engagement remains crucial to Africa’s growth.

He further noted that one of the major objectives of the anniversary lecture is to encourage diaspora Nigerians and Africans to strengthen their economic and intellectual connection with the continent by investing in Africa’s future.

The statement emphasised that diaspora communities remain critical stakeholders in Africa’s transformation, particularly through remittances, entrepreneurship, policy engagement, and institutional partnerships.

Otunba Salako also pointed to the enduring historical, diplomatic, educational, and economic ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, noting that this relationship makes London a symbolic and practical venue for conversations about Africa’s future.

He said the event would also provide a platform to reinforce mutually beneficial partnerships between African institutions and international stakeholders, while projecting positive narratives about African leadership and opportunity.

The publisher reaffirmed that despite the foreign venue, the soul and identity of Triangle International Magazine remain deeply rooted in Nigeria, adding that the celebration in London is intended to elevate the brand’s international mission while preserving its African vision.

He added that the anniversary lecture and awards ceremony would bring together policymakers, professionals, entrepreneurs, scholars, and members of the African community in the United Kingdom for a robust engagement on development issues affecting the continent.

Otunba Salako described the 10th anniversary as a major milestone for the organisation, saying it represents ten years of consistent storytelling, honouring excellence, and building bridges across nations.
