Troops Kill 254 Terrorists, Arrest 264 As 81 Surrender – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) yesterday said troops on internal operations across the country killed 254 terrorists, arrested 264 and rescued 73 hostages in one week.

The director, defence media operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba who disclosed this in a statement said 81 ISWAP/JAS terrorist fighters and their family members comprising 28 adult males, 78 adult females and 147 children surrendered to troops in Bama and Damboa LGAs of Borno State within the week.

He said troops also arrested 104 suspected oil thieves and seized stolen products worth N2.6 billion.

Buba said troops within the period recovered 378 assorted weapons and 4,705 assorted ammunition.

He said the military would continue to find innovative solutions to the challenges in order to secure the country and protect citizens from harm caused by evil elements across the country.
