Troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Special Intervention Battalion 7, in conjunction with 8 Division Strike Team, under the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have killed three terrorists in Kadam Forest.

They were neutralised during an engagement with a notorious terrorist network affiliated with the Lakurawa terrorists in Tangaza local government area, Sokoto State.

A statement by the acting deputy director, Army Public Relations 8 Division, Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt-Col. Olaniyi Osoba said the operation was initiated following credible intelligence that over 100 terrorists had converged on Kadam Forest to coordinate attacks and kidnappings on the communities and transport their abducted victims to their strongholds.

He said the troops, acting on the intelligence, mobilised to intercept the terrorist advance and made contact at approximately 1200 hours.

Osoba said that during the ensuing firefight, the terrorists attempted a rear-flanking manoeuvre, which the troops responded to with superior firepower, effectively neutralising the threat and maintaining tactical dominance throughout the engagement.
