Troops of 3 Division code-named Operation Save Haven (OPSH) on Wednesday neutralised two bandits following credible intelligence leading to laying ambush against the criminals in Nteng Community of Qua’aPan local government area of Plateau State.
In a statement issued by OPSH’s Media and Information Officer, Major Samson Zhakom, many of the bandits fled with gunshot injuries during the encounter.
According to the statement, troops recovered dangerous weapons and ammunition upon exploitation of the area.
He added that the recovered weapons and ammunition were in the custody of troops for further action.
Major Zhakom further said troops were on the trail of the fleeing criminals, stressing that the latest operational success remains a testament to troops’ unrelenting fight against armed militias and other criminal elements within Operation SAFE HAVEN Joint Operations Area.
He also said the success will be sustained through intense fighting spirit of troops and collaborative efforts of the public in providing actionable information to aid military operations.
