Truck Crushes Skater To Death In Jos

A truck loaded with cement has  crushed a teenage skater at Terminus Market, Jos North local government area of Plateau State.

LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that the incident occurred at 9:30 pm when the trailer was heading out of Jos.

According to an eyewitness, Musa Audu, the incident occurred when the teenager held on to the trailer but unfortunately, the tyre of the truck hit and crushed him to death.

The accident raised concern among sympathisers who trooped to the scene.

Audu said, “The accident happened around 9:30pm when people had left the market. Before the victim was crushed to death, he was holding onto the vehicle and moving with it, unfortunately, the tyre of the truck hit him and the truck ran over him, killing him instantly.”

When contacted, Nasiru Yahaya, chairman of a section of Terminus Market, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

He explained that Heelys riders, especially children, often “Heely” around Murtala Mohammed Way, especially at night and when there isn’t much movement of people and vehicles around the area, giving them more space to engage in their activities.

He described the äccident as pathetic, noting that “this is not the first time such a tragic incident has happened in the area.
