An APC governorship aspirant for Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsah has donated cash and foodstuffs to victims of the accidental airstrike that killed scores of people in Jilli village in Borko District of Gaidam local government area of the State.
Tumsah, widely known as KMT, was among the first individuals to provide relief materials to victims of the unfortunate incident.
He donated bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of cooking oil and hundreds of thousands of naira cash to cover medical bills for the wounded.
A statement made available to newsmen by Abubakar Ahmed said the gesture from Tumsah, an APC governorship aspirant in the 2027 general elections, was to cushion the effects on the community.
Ahmed said the items were presented to the District Head of Borko, Mainama Zannah, and the Councillor of Futchimiram Ward, Hon. Lawan Zannah, at the Gaidam Teaching Hospital by KMT’s representatives led by Yobe First Movement Zone A Coordinator, Lewami Alhaji Bakura.
He said the governorship aspirant was deeply touched and shocked by the incident and felt the need to urgently assist those affected.
This is why he said we should immediately bring these items, including rice, cooking oil, cartons of spaghetti, and cash to the victims on his behalf, and also to condole the families of the deceased persons, praying to Allah to accommodate their souls in Jannatu Firdaus.
Receiving the foodstuff, both Mainama Zannah and the Councillor of Futchimiram Ward, Hon Lawan Zannah, expressed their gratitude to KMT for his ongoing support to the people of the state in both their joyful and difficult times.
