In its efforts to improve the lives of widows, Tomorrow’s Women Development Organisation (TWDO), in collaboration with Divine Gold Multi-purpose Cooperative Society, empowered over 100 widows by distributing essential food items, clothing materials, and agricultural inputs.

The outreach was held in the Durumi area of Abuja yesterday, targeting only widows.

The founder of TWDO, Hon Chinyere Ezenwokike, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to addressing widows’ unique challenges. She noted that widows often carry societal burdens without sufficient support and stressed the importance of such empowerment programmes in restoring their dignity and independence.

The widows also received training on modern agricultural practices, including the use of liquid fertilisers and improved crop cultivation techniques. These skills, coupled with seasonally appropriate inputs such as cassava and corn seedlings.

Cynthia Ogwuegwe, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely intervention.
