Major General A.M.Bello (retd) has bowed out as the captain of the TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club, after rendering compassionate service and tremendous achievements.
The handing over ceremony to the new captain, Major General S.S. Jiya, witnessed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, who was represent by Major General M.E. Ndag, over 100 golfers participated in the kitty to mark the end of General Bello-led leadership of TYB-IGRCC.

A member of the club, Mrs Rose Abus Nyam, said General Bello in less than two year of his tenure as the captain of TYB-IGRCC, changed the fortune of the club from what it used to be to one of the best golf clubs in the country and beyond.
“No doubt Maj General A.M. Bello tenure would remain indelible as landmark achievements were accomplished.
“His leadership, dedication, and passion for the sport have truly made a positive impact on the club and its members. Under his guidance. The club has flourished and grown, Mrs Myam said
“He is one of the best captains we have had and has done so many things for the club, including marking of the course, construction of the club new house, organizing tournaments and many things.”
According to Mrs Nyam, a lot are being expected from the new captain, saying his predecessor has set a space for him to follow.
“We are expecting the new captain to continue from where General Bello stop, and we are hoping that he will do better than him,” she said.
The Resident Pro of TYB-IGRCC, Pro Musa Usman, applauded the former captain, General Bello, for his achievements, saying his tenure recorded tremendous progress.
“The club made tremendous progress under his leadership both in administration and structural wise. He transformed the club from what it used to be to international standard and one of the bests you can found anywhere in the world.
“His style of leadership is inclusiveness, he carry everybody along.
“The new captain who is also a General and gentle man, a lot is expected from him because he is one of the funding fathers of the club.
“He has promised to hit the ground-running immediately. He also promised to do a lot of things for the club. So, expectations are high and the members of the club have also pledged to support and encourage him to succeed,” Pro Musa said.
TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club is fully owned by members of the Nigerian Nigerian Armed Forces serving and retired.
