American singer and actor William Ray Norwood Jr., popularly known as Ray J, has raised concerns over his personal safety as his legal dispute with media personalities Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian moves to arbitration.
Speaking during an interview on an episode of The Jason Lee Show on Wednesday, the singer alleged that he remains “on alert” regarding potential retaliatory actions from the Kardashian-Jenner family. When questioned about the severity of these concerns, the singer suggested he would not rule out extreme measures being taken against him.
The allegations come amid a complex legal battle between the parties. Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner initially filed a defamation lawsuit against the singer after he claimed the family was under investigation for racketeering. In response, Ray J filed a countersuit, alleging a breach of a settlement agreement related to a 2007 private recording.
A judge recently ruled that while the defamation case will continue in open court, Ray J’s countersuit must be settled through private arbitration.
Sources close to the Kardashian family have dismissed the singer’s latest claims as baseless, stating that there is no intention to engage with the allegations.
