Son of Ebonyi State Governor, Osborn Nweze Umahi put smiles on the faces of shoppers who were lucky to be in the newly-opened Ebonyi International Mall on January 3, 2023, when he inspected the mall in the company of his father, Governor Dave Umahi and other government officials.
The video of the Ebonyi first family’s visit to the ultra-modern shopping mall built by the administration of Governor David Umahi went viral on January 3.
Osborn Nweze, a serial entrepreneur, reportedly paid for the shopping expenses of all shoppers in the mall as well as gave out New Year presents.
He later took to his Instagram page @osbornnweze, and commented on the mall visit, writing: “Today, I visited the Ebonyi Mall which is one of the largest in Nigeria built by my father Governor David Umahi’s administration. We are grateful to God for enabling us complete such a massive project. Glory to God.”
Although he was silent about the part where he gave out gifts and put smiles on shoppers’ faces, the news nonetheless did not come as a surprise to many as he already has a reputation for philanthropic deeds, notably through his Osborn Foundation which focuses on poor out-of-school children.
Osborn Nweze’s stock has been on the rise in recent times with speculations that the young man might likely follow the footsteps of his father into politics having emulated the Senior Umahi in academic and professional pursuits.
Like his father who is an engineer, Osborn Nweze studied Engineering at Surrey University and followed his father into business, first cutting his teeth in his father’s company, Brass Oil and Construction Limited where he is currently the Managing Director, before venturing into hospitality with the founding of the Lapalm Royal Resort.
