The Country President, United Nations, Positive Livelihood Award Center UN-POLAC, Amb. Engr. Peter Ohagwa has called on Federal and State Authorities to intensify coordinated efforts to ensure the immediate and safe release of all abducted persons in recent attacks on Kebbi,Niger,Kwara , Lokoja and Katsina states
Amb Ohagwa also urged the Security Agencies to strengthen proactive and intelligence-driven responses that prioritize citizens protection.
He made the submission in a Statement while expressing deep concern and strongly condemning the recent abductions carried out in Kebbi,Niger ,Kwara,Lokoja, and Katsina States, where innocent citizens have once again fallen victim to acts of violence and criminality.
According to the Statement, the renewed terror attacks, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi and Niger states, the assault on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, as well as abduction and killings in Lokoja and Katsina are disheartening and worrisome that calls for urgent intervention.
“The evolution of violent extremism, banditry and ongoing security challenges in the country, This resurgence underscores the vital need for collaboration, not public labelling, between Nigeria and the United States.”the Country President added.
He said UN-POLAC stands firmly with all affected states, individuals, families, institutions, and reaffirms its commitment to advocating for peace, safety, and community resilience across the stares of Nigeria.
Amb.Ohagwa also calls onCommunity Leaders and Stakeholders to collaborate in reinforcing early-warning structures and promoting peaceful coexistence,and as wellDevelop Humanitarian Partners to continue supporting interventions that address insecurity, trauma recovery, and community empowerment.
As an organisation dedicated to peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and community development, UN-POLAC emphasises the urgency of addressing both the symptoms and root causes of insecurity, including poverty, youth vulnerability, social exclusion, and weak community support systems.
He urge for the swift and safe return of all abducted persons, and call for justice, accountability, and renewed national commitment to protecting every Nigerian, regardless of location or background.
