The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has emphasised the importance of unity among stakeholders and attracting foreign investment as crucial factors for the growth of Nigeria’s housing sector.
This call comes as HDAN extends its support to the new leadership of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN).
Executive director of HDAN Festus Adebayo, in a statement yesterday, urged all housing stakeholders in the country to unite and rally behind REDAN’s new president, Akintoye Adeoye.
The objective, according to Adebayo, is to propel the association to a higher level where it garners international recognition and attracts foreign investments into the Nigerian housing sector.
“It is imperative that we come together as a united front to support REDAN’s new leadership,” Adebayo said. “Only through collaboration and a shared vision can we position the association to attract the foreign investment that is critical for the development of our housing sector.”
Adebayo emphasised that HDAN, a pioneering non-governmental organisation of professionals from various disciplines, remains steadfast in its dedication to enhancing the housing industry’s standards.
He stressed that the advocacy group’s commitment to supporting professional bodies and promoting the activities of all housing and construction sector professionals is unwavering.
The HDAN executive director also commended the efforts of Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, the minister of Housing and Urban Development, for taking significant steps towards enhancing professionalism within the sector.
He noted that this marks the first time the housing sector will be led by a professional who comprehensively understands its intricacies, a development that HDAN finds commendable.
“We applaud the minister’s commitment to enforcing regulations and promoting integrity and transparency in the real estate business,” Adebayo stated.
“These principles have been at the core of HDAN’s mission for many years, and we are encouraged by the positive changes we are witnessing.”
As the real estate landscape in Nigeria evolves, HDAN has called upon all stakeholders to seize this opportunity and work together toward a promising future characterised by professionalism, transparency, and sustainable growth in the housing sector.
Adebayo emphasised that attracting foreign investment will be critical in achieving this goal, and unity among stakeholders is the key to making Nigeria’s housing sector an attractive destination for international investors.
